Alexandria Safford of Ballston Lake Collects Third NECC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week Honor

Southern Vermont College freshman Alexandria Safford (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the period ending April 29, 2018 as announced by the league on Monday, May 1.

The honor is the third of the year for the Mountaineer after she was tabbed with the laurel on April 9 and then April 16.

Safford completed the regular season with another terrific week as she potted 12 goals across Southern Vermont's three games. She also had an assist, 12 ground balls, and four caused turnovers.

In a Tuesday win at Bay Path University, the freshman posted six goals and seven ground balls. She then tallied five goals and an assist in a victory at Mitchell College on Saturday to help SVC take the No. 3 seed in the upcoming playoff tournament.
