Kajuan Kinsey of Deerfield Beach Collects Second-straight NECC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week Award

Southern Vermont College freshman Kajuan Kinsey (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the period ending January 14, 2018 as announced by the league on Monday.

The honor is the Mountaineer's second in as many weeks.

Kinsey's points numbers kept getting better as last week progressed-finishing with an average of 14.3 per game through Southern Vermont's three NECC road wins. He shot an electric 73.9 percent from the floor in his 22.7 minutes per contest off the bench.

In a 76-59 victory at Lesley University on Thursday, the freshman went 5-5 from field goal range, including a 4-4 clip from downtown, to post 14 points. He then went 5-5 in the first half before finishing 8-10 from the floor in an 85-75 Saturday win at Dean College-chalking up another four 3-pointers for a total of 20 points.
