Women's Basketball's Maddy Main of Bennington Collects Sixth NECC Rookie of the Week Accolade

The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced its final weekly awards for the 2017-18 basketball regular seasons on Monday with Southern Vermont College junior Maddy Main (Bennington, VT) being named the league's Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the period ending February 18.

Main garnered half of the Conference's Rookie of the Week honors during the campaign with Monday's honor being her sixth of the year.

The Mountaineer junior completed her tremendous rookie season last week as she chalked up a pair of double-doubles to finish the year with 15 overall. She registered 24 points and 16 boards in a Thursday win over Bay Path University while adding seven blocks, three assists, and three steals to her line. Main then had 12 points and 13 rebounds at Elms College on Saturday to finish the week with averages of 18.0 points, 14.5 boards, 4.0 blocks, 2.5 steals, and 2.0 assists per game.

At the conclusion of the regular season, Main ranked fourth in the NECC in points and rebounds per game with 16.0 and 11.8, respectively.
